Submerging into stillness the interior is explored

This piece explores stillness as a connection to the interior of the mind. I am interested in so-called “mind jolts” such as daydreaming or zoning out and how they create pockets in time in which you are transported away from consciousness. The moments where the mind feels unconnected with the body, as though the consciousness momentarily drifts away from the body.

These events generally pass by without recognition or without drawing attention to themselves, but simultaneously staging a situation like this with a group of people the audience takes note. I enjoy exploring these ‘glitches’ away from consciousness; they are moments which are only experienced by yourself - you really feel alone in the world despite being surrounded by people and it is that irony that intrigues me. This piece has an air of the shared consciousness that animals experience in their stillness of communication and makes one think, “is there a way to unconsciously communicate?”
